Pauline McNamaraPauline McNamara - Head of Private Client Family

Pauline McNamara was the inspiration for the re-brand initiative which created PMC Family Law, a niche boutique family law firm specialising in high-net worth, in July 2016. Having previously also headed up both Cassell Moore Family and DWF’s Liverpool based family department, she brings over thirty years of experience to MSB.

Pauline is an experienced litigator in all areas of family law including divorce, financial ancillary relief, co-habitation disputes and issues relating to children. She is most well-known for her experience in the most complex financial proceedings involving successful business people and football icons.

Her “strong, concise and precise” approach has led to her being widely respected among family practitioners within the North West. Pauline was named as a Recommended Lawyer in the Legal 500 who also described her as “brilliant” heading an excellent team. 

She is also a member of the NSPCC Local Business Board and supports the local hospice Jospice. She also supports the Melanie Beattie Appeal Fund in support of Clatterbridge Hospital.

Pauline has acted as a mentor for junior members of her teams, training them into the new generation of solicitors who, following her guidance and support, are able thrive independently.

In her spare time, Pauline is a dedicated Everton FC fan and enjoys reading and trips to Spain.

Caroline Hamilton-BarrettCaroline Hamilton-Barrett – Senior Associate

Caroline graduated from the University of Dundee in 2005 with an honours degree in English Law. She then went on to complete her Legal Practice Course (LPC) at The College of Law.

Caroline is experienced within all areas of Family Law  with a particular interest in high net worth financial matters and children issues arising from the breakdown in a relationship. Caroline is regularly instructed to represent clients within children matters with a foreign element and is a keen advocate of grandparent’s rights.

Caroline prides herself on being able to successfully balance being compassionate towards her clients whilst maintaining a forensic and tenacious approach to each individual case.

She chose to specialise in Family Law because she wanted to work within an area that allowed her to make a positive impact on the lives of each individual client. Caroline prides herself on being a source of help and care when client’s are going through the most difficult times, she guides them every step of the way.

Caroline is listed as a Recommended Lawyer in the Legal 500.

John OwensJohn Owens – Senior Associate Solicitor

John completed his Law Degree with the University of Ulster in Belfast before completing his Legal Practice Course (LPC) with the College of Law in Chester.
John’s background was originally in litigation before he chose to specialise solely in Family Law.

John advises on all technical, strategic and procedural aspects of family law with a particular focus on divorce and complex financial relief matters involving mid to high net worth assets, cases involving business assets and complicated pensions.
Another area of expertise for John is Children Act cases with particular focus on removal from the jurisdiction and cases representing Fathers obtaining Child Arrangements Orders.

John is extremely personable and likes to develop a rapport with his clients, whether they are individuals of high net worth, celebrities or vulnerable clients of modest means.
John is able to draw on his varied experience and ability to work across different areas of law in order to achieve the best possible outcome for his clients and has developed a reputation as an extremely proactive solicitor. He is a Legal 500 recommended lawyer 2019.

John has a keen interest in fitness and enjoys training in the gym and running outdoors. John enjoys socialising with his friends, eating out and weekends breaks visiting European cities.

Jennifer MilesJennifer Miles – Associate Solicitor

Jennifer graduated from the University of Liverpool in 2011 with an honours degree in Law and Criminology. She then completed the Legal Practice Course (LPC) at The University of Law.

Jennifer qualified as a solicitor with PMC in 2016 and was made an Associate in 2018.

Jennifer had always felt compelled to work in Family Law assisting people in what can often be very difficult and emotional circumstances.

She has experience in both high net worth financial cases as well as complex children act matters. Jennifer ensures that clients receive the support and compassion that they need whilst providing a professional and efficient service. She always strives to ensure that the client’s needs are met and a fair outcome is obtained.

In her spare time, Jennifer enjoys keeping active either in the gym, taking part in half marathons or just taking the dog for long walks.

Renn MoucarryRenn Moucarry - Solicitor

Renn graduated from the University of Liverpool in 2013 with a Law and Criminology degree. She then completed a Graduate Diploma in Law (GDL) in 2014, followed by the Legal Practice Course with Distinction in 2015.
Renn began work with Pauline McNamara as her paralegal and obtained a training contract in September 2017. She qualified as a solicitor with MSB in June 2019. During her training contract, Renn was short listed as Legal Professional of the Year at the Women in Business Awards.

Renn has expertise in all aspects of Family Law, including private children matters and financial aspects ancillary to divorce proceedings.

Renn has a Syrian Father and a Danish Mother, she was also born in France and is a fluent French speaker. Owing to her international background, she has a keen interest in matters with an international aspect. She has clients from Australia, the Middle East, Eastern Europe and Asia.
In her spare time, Renn enjoys being active, she regularly attends gym classes and plays netball. Most recently, she enjoyed supporting the Netball World Cup, held in Liverpool in July 2019.

Lindsey PotterLindsey Potter – Trainee Solicitor

Lindsey graduated from Liverpool John Moores University, obtaining a first class degree with honour in Law and Criminal Justice in 2014. She then completed the LPC in August 2016 obtaining a Distinction.

Lindsey started as a paralegal at PMC Family Law in July 2016 and gained a training contract in November 2017. Lindsey will qualify as a Solicitor with MSB in 2020. She works closely with all members of the family team covering a wide range of family law matters. Lindsey has developed experience dealing with divorce, financial matters, children etc.

Before joining her team, Lindsey worked in a legal aid firm dealing with high volumes of domestic violence and child protection cases.

In her spare time, Lindsey has a keen interest in roller derby, cycling and yoga.
