An application may be made to the High Court to remove the passport of a potential abductor and or children in order to prevent them travelling. Consideration must be given to whether the child and/or parent could obtain another passport or may have another passport/travel document with which they could travel.
Passport Orders can also be made when the child has been removed from the country, this would ensure that if the child and/or potential abductor were to attempt to return into the UK their passport would be removed preventing them from leaving the country again, without the issues in respect of the child being looked at by the Court.
If an Order of the Court is obtained to remove a passport it is the tipstaff i.e. The High Court Enforcement Officers that are responsible for attending and removing the passport.
