If a Police Officer feels that your child is at immediate risk of suffering significant harm they can remove a child to a place of safety. They can do this without obtaining a Court Order. They can do this without going to Court and it is an Order that the Police grant themselves. It is only a temporary measure and is only effective for 72 hours. If a child is removed or detained under a Police Protection Order, it is a very strong indicator that Social Workers will then apply for a Care Order and you should consult MSB immediately, so that we can start to prepare your case.
