Savera UK is a Merseyside based charity dedicated to tackling domestic abuse within black and minority ethnic communities. The charity raises awareness among professionals and practitioners of the specific harmful practices of forced marriage, honour based abuse and female genital mutilation. Savera UK works on a daily basis to protect some of the most vulnerable and marginalised individuals in our local communities. As such, when referring these at-risk individuals to services and agencies for support, we must ensure these practitioners understand their degree of vulnerability. Any services and/or agencies must understand – and recognise – what honour based violence/abuse means, as well as the cultural and traditional values attached to these harmful practices. Of utmost importance is the comprehension of the immediate threat posed to these individuals.

MSB law firm has been a pillar of example in all of the traits laid out above. The firm has been tremendous in its support and critically, provides an excellent service to Savera UK. Savera’s team often calls the firm for legal advice and always finds they are very happy to help. Savera is most grateful that they have a named individual whom they can contact at the firm who is always delighted to help and always makes themselves available to us. This is especially important when we deal with clients who need legal advice and support urgently.
